If you spot a turtle crossing the road, it is helpful if you move the turtle away from traffic, placing it on the side in the direction it was headed. Of course, be sure that you watch out for your safety, especially on a busy street or with an alligator snapping turtle! If you encounter a snapping turtle in danger, it is best to drag it by its tail into safety.
